This event proposes to examine the city through an interdisciplinary analytical lens on the discourses and practices that constitute citizens' lives and the understanding of urban space as a dynamo of social transformation. The ethical and political issues that affect the local and global future of cities denote the complexity of the challenges of the urban experience today, as the source of the problems or as an opportunity to overcome them. Thus, the cycle of conferences will highlight phenomena such as mobility dynamics, material, counter-material, environmental and identity relationships, which are anchored in the city and make the city. They are furthermore ethically and politically interconnected, mobilizing concepts, forms of democratic participation, ways of life, and new social and urban imaginaries.
The speakers at The City in Motion conferences are renowned in their specific fields of study, namely in moral philosophy, human geography, environmental ethics, aesthetics, and social and political philosophy.
The cycle of conferences will begin in 2023 and continue into 2024. The dates and topics of each participant will be announced soon.
