The current public health crisis, which has also become a social one, is aggravated by economic regression and even generalized depression. It is further exacerbated by a sense of urgency regarding the profusion of information and contradictory opinions which can prove disorienting. Indubitably, the most fundamental questions did not emerge with the pandemic but are part of a long journey that has strived to rethink our ways of dwelling. However, they have attained today particular significance because the present is being experienced as an emergency. Living permanently under the weight of uncertainty has reinforced the questioning of the nature of such problems as a requirement to reflect on our common future, individually and collectively. The PPS Talks aim to highlight and renew the role of philosophy in thinking about the world we want to live in.
